There, he played football and became a starting tackle. In 1966, Mack was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams. He played as a guard for the Rams for 13 seasons. He never missed a game in his career. He appeared in 184 straight regular season games. Mack earned 11 Pro Bowl selections. He was named All-Pro multiple times. He became known for his consistency and durability. He played in many postseason games but did not appear in a Super Bowl. He retired from the NFL in 1978. In 1999, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
