Former NFL linebacker Brian Urlacher recently shared his experiences facing Aaron Rodgers during the Bears vs. Packers matchups in the 2000s. Urlacher, who was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2000 and retired in 2013, played against both Brett Favre and Rodgers as part of the NFC North rivalry.
On Johnny Manziel’s podcast ‘Glory Daze,’ Urlacher expressed admiration for Rodgers, stating, “Aaron Rodgers is a badass too. They’re (Aaron and Brett Favre) just competitive guys, and they were fun to play against. Win or lose, whatever- they were fun to play with.”
Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2005 and initially served as a backup to Favre before becoming the starting quarterback in 2008. During his time with the Packers, he started 223 out of 230 games, amassing 59,055 yards and 475 touchdowns.
Urlacher faced Rodgers nine times before retiring. After an unremarkable two-season stint with the New York Jets ending in February, Rodgers is now preparing to be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2025 season.
