Brett Favre’s biographer, Jeff Pearlman, has voiced concerns about the accuracy of a new Netflix docu-series focusing on the Dallas Cowboys. Pearlman, author of Favre’s biography “Gunslinger” and “Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty,” stated that content from his book was used in the series. He criticized Skydance, the production company behind the project, for what he described as insufficient research into key events.

Pearlman made his comments public through his TikTok account. According to him, the portrayal of team owner Jerry Jones in relation to the Herschel Walker trade was misleading. Pearlman said, “A couple of things: No. 1, I know they used my book. It’s clear that Skydance used my book… It’s OK. Fine. Whatever. Jerry Jones taking credit for the Herschel Walker trade is ridiculous. It’s not a ‘we.’ It was Jimmy (Johnson). It was zero percent, Jerry. Jerry didn’t even know what the hell was going on. It was a Jimmy Johnson trade. The organization of the trade was Jimmy. The value for the picks for the players they acquired was Jimmy. And so far, this whole documentary is just a hand job to Jerry Jones. It actually is infuriating.”

Favre’s biography by Pearlman covers both his career and personal struggles from upbringing to life as a Hall of Famer quarterback.

Separately, Brett Favre has recently sought alternative therapies after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease following his National Football League career conclusion, including participation in programs that use psychedelic drugs outside U.S.-approved medical guidelines.

Favre commented on these treatments stating, “I was told about ibogaine from a friend who completed the treatment. And was blown away by the results.” He has reported improved sleep quality and increased energy levels since joining an international neuroregenerative program specializing in such therapies.
