Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Brendan Sorsby has been named to the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watchlist. The award is presented each year to the top upperclassmen quarterback who displays excellence in character, athletics, and academics.

This marks the fourth preseason award watch list recognition for Sorsby ahead of the upcoming college football season. He has previously been listed for the Davey O’Brien Award, Maxwell Award, and Manning Award.

Sorsby will enter his second season playing for Cincinnati and his third overall in college football. Last season, he recorded 2,813 passing yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also added 447 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

A statement from Cincinnati Football read: ” Brendan Sorsby has been named to the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watchlist (…) » https://t.co/ny3lkC0JgAhttps://t.co/r9Q9pkoTwo,” according to Cincinnati Football (@GoBearcatsFB) on August 19, 2025.

Last season’s recipient of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award was Sheduer Sanders from Colorado.

With a year of experience in Cincinnati’s offense and new additions to the team roster, expectations are high for Sorsby as he prepares for what could be an All-Big 12 caliber campaign.
