Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher has expressed his opinion on the team’s recent acquisition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In a conversation with Dan Patrick, Cowher was asked if he would allow Rodgers the same level of control over the offense as Ben Roethlisberger once had. Cowher responded affirmatively, stating that Rodgers is capable of maintaining a balanced offensive strategy.

“Absolutely. I don’t think there’s any question about it,” Cowher said. He emphasized that Rodgers should not be overburdened with passing attempts to ensure his health for the playoffs. “You want Aaron Rodgers to be healthy going into the playoffs.”

Cowher also highlighted Rodgers’ experience and reliability in critical moments, saying, “You can turn the ball over to him at the end of a half, at the end of a game and know he’s been there before.” He believes that Rodgers will efficiently adapt to his new environment with time.

The Steelers have bolstered their roster by adding players like DK Metcalf and Jalen Ramsey alongside Rodgers. Despite these high-profile additions, Cowher cautioned that integrating new team members takes time and effort. “I think the biggest thing right now is going out there and try to bring this whole thing together,” he said.

Cowher noted a sense of urgency for Pittsburgh to succeed in the postseason after an eight-year drought without a playoff victory. He acknowledged that changes within the team require effective communication and patience.
