Former NFL player Asante Samuel has criticized Randy Moss‘s recent comments about Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. In an interview with the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Moss claimed Hill was “nowhere” near being considered an “all-time” great. Samuel, a former New England Patriot and two-time Super Bowl champion, described Moss’s remarks as “premature.”
During his podcast, Say What Needs to be Said, Samuel said that it is too early to judge Hill’s career. “Tyreek Hill is only going into his 10th season,” he said. “He’s shown no signs of slowing down.” Samuel highlighted Hill’s recent performance in a 100-meter dash as evidence of his ongoing athleticism.
Samuel advised waiting until Hill’s career concludes before evaluating his place among wide receivers. Comparing their careers, Moss recorded 15,292 receiving yards and 156 touchdowns over 218 games, while Hill has achieved 11,098 receiving yards and 82 touchdowns in 141 games.
Hill surpasses Moss in Pro Bowl appearances with eight compared to six and leads in All-Pro titles with six against four. Despite these achievements, Moss remains a Hall of Famer.
Moss was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft.
