Army West Point senior quarterback Dewayne Coleman has been named to the 13th annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List. This recognition marks the third consecutive year that an Army West Point quarterback has earned a spot on the list, following Bryson Daily’s selections in each of the previous two seasons.

Coleman, who is from Selma, Texas, made his first career start in place of an injured teammate against Air Force in 2024 and became the first Army West Point quarterback to win his starting debut since 2020. Over his career with the Black Knights, Coleman has appeared in 10 games. He has rushed 42 times for 144 yards and one touchdown and completed seven of eleven passes for 121 yards and another touchdown.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is given annually to the top offensive player in Division I football who exemplifies integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community involvement and tenacity — specifically acknowledging determination in overcoming adversity or injury while pursuing success. Nominees must also have a connection to Texas by birth, high school graduation, attendance at a Texas junior college or current participation at a Texas Division I four-year college.

This year’s Watch List features 102 players representing nine conferences plus one independent school (American Athletic Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Twelve Conference, Big Ten Conference, Conference USA, Mountain West Conference, Pac-12 Conference, Southeastern Conference and Sun Belt Conference). Players on this list come from universities spanning thirty-three states and seventy-three schools. Quarterbacks lead all nominations with thirty-one spots on the list.

A player does not need to be named on the initial Watch List to remain eligible for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award during the season.
